Thank you for the hard work last week during parent/teacher conferences. I really appreciate everyone being there for your students and their parents. If you have parent/teacher conferences that canceled or no-showed, please make it a point to reach out and try to complete those ASAP. Anyone with APP forms MUST complete their parent conferences.
This is going to be a fast and furious four days this week. Please be prepared in your classes and ready to go for EDM4 training, LLI training and The Learner First schedule on Thursday.
***Be sure to attend your specific Learner First meeting. Students in the grade levels that are meeting will eat breakfast in the cafeteria before being dismissed to go to class.

Weekly Staff Spotlight:
Raquel Leyva - Receptionist
Ms. Leyva is in her 8th school year as a member of the Hayes Cardinal staff. She was born and raised in the West Texas town of El Paso. Her life long goal was to open up her own daycare center. She ran a small daycare out of her home for ten years before coming to Hayes. Her new goal in life is to make it to retirement and write the next "Great American Novel."
She loves Mexican food and can be found on Wednesday nights playing trivia at the local Old Chicago restaurant. Her favorite category is "Science!!"
Unlike Ms. Briscoe she has no guilty pleasure and has NO love for cats. For Ms. Leyva it is a family affair as two of her three daughters work in OKCPS.

Once the student has successfully logged on, they will then select either STAR Early Literacy (K-1), STAR Reading (2-6) or STAR Math (2-6). After selecting an assessment, the student will need to select the class labeled reading. The student will then proceed with the pre-test. Once the student has completed the pre-test, a box will pop-up asking for a monitor password to advance to the real assessment portion. Please note that the student will select the class labeled reading for both STAR Math and STAR Reading after they select the designated assessment from their dashboard.
